Oh hi there, my shower drain.
I see you wear your hair differently, today.
How it looks so different, after the rain
And all my sweat and dirt and conditioner
And how it’s conditioned you to have hair
In these showery conditions.
I had my suspicions, that something was askew
When from your piped oesophagus, I smelled a certain brew
Made up of what should be in bins,
And all my terrible sins
That washed through you.
Come, I’ll give your hair a rinse,
Although, with a slight wince
At the confrontation of a strange sensation
And being faced with the proof –
An undeniable truth:
That my shower drain used my shampoo.

Painted Snow
Five red trails
In the white snow
On the mountain.
The signs of the predator,
That steals their innocence
And leaves them broken.
Those that wander off the path
Are set alight with his eternal flame,
So they may be the beacons of shame.
Oh, but he is so beautiful,
With his smooth and clean skin,
There is not a single sin on him.
Although, if you could see his soul
You would know –
He is the one that paints the snow.
Morning Routine
Take my breath
With your hand around my neck,
And cold fingers running down my spine.
I live and die
At your command,
At your hand.
Every morning I try
To walk away
But you always chase
Me endlessly, relentlessly
Till I can’t see
The light ahead of me.
Forgotten Baggage
With tears in his eyes
He stared out of the train window
At a world that passed him by
Ever so quickly.
He looked, and saw
The trees falling,
The grasses wither,
And the birds falling
So deeply in love
As they fly in pairs
Through the trees
And build their nests
So they may settle
In a home in the shade,
High in the green trees,
Away from all harm
Before they too, leave
For a better place
Where they will find their warmth
And final resting place.
The sun dried his tears
And a smile slowly spread across his face
As he turned into a bird
And flew to the horizon.
End it with a bang
I despise the explosions.
A bang and a light
Surrounded by a group of cheering chimpanzees
As they discover fire.
Their only legacy is the noise –
The shit they litter and throw,
The limbs they lose
And the life they choose.
What they reap is what they sow,
As it is all they will ever know.
my calling
can you see the tree
that calls me
by name
for so,
so
long,
my friend
Supernova
You are a fading star in the dark void –
Holding onto dear life
And shining your light
As your vital signs cease.
A dramatic final statement
As you explode in silence.
At the end of it all
You were only full of gas.
But now you are nothing
As your light meets my eyes
One last time.
Smoke
Smoking like a chimney,
You infect me
With the smug smog
Coming out of your mouth,
Along with the senseless silence
As your common sense has flown South for the winter.
On the Wrong Track
I’m listening to sad songs
Because there’s something wrong
In my head and I’m sad
All the time and not fine
When I want to end my bloodline with me
And can’t see how I can be free.
It’s a constant continuation
Of frustration
But I’m not hiding –
Fighting it as I just sit
And take it but I don’t fake it
Even though I wish I could
Get off at the next station
And leave this train of thought
But the ticket I bought was misunderstood
And now I don’t know what to do.
