Under the Morning Star

I can hear the bells approaching –
Charon’s boat on a murky river
As he has come to take me away
To a place where there is no light
And only night
Remains
With my remains.

You ascend with the Valkyries
That take you to the sky –
Through clouds, rain and thunder.
But not before Cupid could shoot
An arrow through my heart,
Of which the tip is barbed
With flowers and stars.

The sun will arrive with its chariot
And the morning star
Will shine bright and guide
Us to each other, with all of us
That remains
After the long, long night.

Of course it’s all a tad dramatic,
But I truly am ecstatic
For every future memory
Of you and me,
And the house
That will always be.

Every Day and Season

We all just want to be held close,
And be told that it will be okay
Some day.

We just want someone to hold onto –
That special one that makes us two,
That we can love the most.

I thought I knew what it’s like
But I don’t think I do,
Or have even a clue.

But I know I want someone
To fall for every day and season –
That someone that puts a spring in my step,
And is there with me through the blizzards and the flames.

Storm

Even though even the remnants of the sunset were gone,
The brightest light was next to me.
She illuminated the clouds as they turned pink,
And it may as well have been raining roses.

The whirling wind was in our face,
But I wouldn’t mind if it kept us in that place forever;
A quiet place in the eye of the storm
Where we could hide out together.

At Last

The music softly plays,
Its tune flows through the air
As I run my fingers through your hair.

It is my perfect place:
Of peace, comfort, it’s our cocoon
With our hearts beating to the same tune.

Your smell, and love, the trace
Left behind on my shirt and face;
After our far from final, perfect embrace.

Sunny Day

The sun’s only out
When you’re around.
I watch it sink into the ground,
With you in my arms
And some of your hair that keeps going into my mouth.

But when you’re here,
There’s not a single cloud in the sky;

Our only company are the sun,
And that shitty little fly.

01/06/2021 – Untitled Poem

My doubts could not stay silent,
And neither could I.

I could see the end coming,
And made a feeble attempt to hide;

Now in your mind,
It is I, that you despise.

The blame is not all mine,
As our actions were seen by four eyes.

We clung to each other and tried to tread lightly,
But we hung on too tightly.

Alas, now that we’re awake:
You are you,
And I am me.

16/04/2021 – The Rose and the Moon

How I wish that this rose could have eyes,
So that it could see it the way I see it,
Through mine.

Then there is the moon, all alone on the dark stage,
With its crater riddled face, it’s confidently present:
Shining brightly.

But it is that moon that haunts you still,
An ironic light that spreads darkness;
Time after time.

It’s almost as if I can see it smile, with its big mouth,
Happily showing off what it has stolen,
In silence.

Because of this thief’s reign, the rose cannot bloom,
It knows no noon because of the moon, but hopefully
It will, soon.

16/01/2021 – Leaves

I just want to leave;
Disappear like the leaves
In the Fall and just
Give up on it all.
I just want to see the sun shine
In the Spring, and feel fine.
I want to see the flowers grow;
Watch the butterflies put on their show
As they dance in the sky above,
Proudly displaying their love.
I look forward to the Summer,
To walks in the park,
When I can hold you tightly in my arms.

But then Winter comes again,

And the leaves fade away.
But at least you’ll be there by my side,
Day after day.

15/01/19 – The Pond

The two gold fish in a clear pond,

Swim in an eternal circle,

In an ever so passionate dance.

A lush green forest surrounds the body of water,

And lives off the energy radiating off the gold fish their love.

A brown deer grazes gently on one side of the pond without a worry in the world.

A frog’s croak can be heard above the sound of a placid breeze.

The bright sun shines down into the clearing,

As the trees allow it to touch the life inside.

But,

One day,

The rhythm of one fish,

Is off the beat of their hearts.

The frog’s croak is silenced as the wind rustling through the trees escalates in speed.

The trees grow out their branches,

And there is a slight darkness in the clearing.

The fish cease their dance,

Though one persists.

He swims,

Though he knows that the dance all thought eternal was only mortal.

The life is drained out of the trees,

As the once green leaves,

Full of life,

Turn to dust.

The frog and deer can only look on,

As one gold fish desperately tries to keep swimming.

But it is too late,

As he is alone,

In his pond of desolation.

14/01/19 – Eulogy for a Love

What to do,

When her words are not “I do”.

Though it is not my love,

The impact of her words shake me to my core.

As there is no other way I know,

To handle this blessing of empathy.

To know that his last name,

Will not be hers.

Though it seemed ever so clear,

The condensation of lost love turns the future an impenetrable opaque.

When love is lost it should no longer be,

But to see this,

To see that it should not be,

A pain never felt personally.

But as I witness his sorrowful display,

I cannot help,

But write this eulogy,

For a love no longer had.
